As a result, the Varicam is a hugely popular camcorder and has been used for countless applications, everything ranging from pop promos to BBC's Planet Earth.

The DVCPRO HD High Definition camcorder has both 720/60p and 720/59.94p native recording, with variable frame rates from 4 to 60 frames per second. It features a 2/3" CCD with HD SDI output, a time lapse function and image inversion for optical adapters
