In 1958, Wendelin Sachtler, cameraman, actor and inventor, developed his own tripod head, a turning point for the filming industry. His so-called gyro head could not only be panned and tilted but was also dampened by a gyro-system – so now film-makers were finally able to execute smooth pans without having to fight against their equipment gaining momentum. This year, Sachtler celebrated it's 50th Anniversary and we have chosen them to support all our shoulder mounted HD camcorders.
