Musion at the Kinetica Art Fair

11th February, 2010

The 2010 Kinetica Art Fair opened last week at P3, the cavernous underground art space at the University of Westminster. The fair combines new developments in the arts, science and technology, with over 25 galleries and organisations specialising in kinetic, electronic and new media art taking part with over 150 artists exhibiting.

Musion’s Eyeliner, a high definition holographic video system, caught a lot of attention at the show. ONSIGHT staff got to see their logo in a holographic form for the first time with other attendees at the fair including McLaren’s Ron Dennis and mentalist Derren Brown.

Winner of the MAMAs Endangered Species 2009 category, Madi Boyd, was the opening artist for Musion's presentation at this years Kinetica Art Fair. Madi's clip MADInk used a Sony EX3 camcorder provided by ONSIGHT for the 2009 Musion Academy Filming Days.

Rachel Garrard, the Winner of the MAMAs Performance Award 2009, was another of the Musion Academy artists present at the show. Rachel also shot her clip with a camera from ONSIGHT, this time a Sony HDW-750. She describes her piece Circuition as ”where the artist becomes the artwork, the spectator becomes an interactive audience and the empty space is given the illusion of solidity.”

Musion's Eyeliner can be seen in action below from 2:10 minutes into the video.
