Polecam sees interest grow in 3-D stereoscopic solution

At IBC2008, Polecam showcased its new Polecam 3D Head, which was developed in cooperation with several 3-D content producers to meet the growing interest in 3-D production.

 

According to the company, UK-based Axis Films has tested a prototype of the Polecam 3D Head using two Iconix HD cameras while shooting a Reebok commercial with prize fighter Amir Khan.

 

The Polecam 3D Head allows side-by-side adjustable mounting of two small HD or SD cameras, such as the two Iconix HD cameras used during the Reebok shoot, for stereoscopic 3-D imaging.

 

According to the company, significant interest in 3-D is growing among digital game developers, and this is building a serious desire on the part of some broadcasters to make use of the same technology.
