Last Passenger continues full speed aheadDate: 1st December, 2011 |
Action thriller Last Passenger is a new UK film, set around a turbulent train journey. With the shoot wrapping last month, we congratulate those involved, including our Camera Rental department.
The BFI and Pinewood Studios, in association with Future Films/2B Pictures, Pathe and NDF International are co-producing this exciting production shot at Shepperton Studios.
ONSIGHT’s camera team was pleased to supply an ARRI Alexa Plus shooting package, combining Anamorphic lenses with the squeeze software upgrade for DoP Angus Hudson. Last Passenger is the first British film to have shot with this camera in an anamorphic format. With the main stage and production office being situated minutes from our Shepperton facility, on hand technical support was made particularly easy for the film team. We later supplied a further Alexa camera for a week’s shoot on location. Our Edit Rental department also played a part, being involved in the offline stage. We installed Final Cut Pro and shared storage systems to help manage the rushes.
The film centres around Lewis Shaler (Dougray Scott), travelling home with his son on the last train from London. The normal journey home quickly leads to interesting encounters (with characters played by Lindsay Duncan and Kara Tointon) and the realisation that the driver has a dark plan for the passengers.
Director and Writer Omid Nooshan and Producers Ado Yoshizaki Cassuto and Zack Winfield secured the funding they needed in an innovative way by creating a £500 pitch in the form of a trailer. With new investment partnerships, such as the BFI and The Pinewood Studios Group coming together to back home-grown independent films, it was only a matter of time before this British project got the green light.
ONSIGHT looks forward to seeing the end result in 2012. For more info and to watch the trailer, please visit:
